Problem

Have you ever been in a situation that you have been heart broken or you felt it was unfair? In the short story "The lottery" by Shirley Jackson has two main themes which is unfairness and heartbroken. This story is about the lottery except it's not actually about winning the lottery it's about getting your name chosen from a black box and once you are chosen you go to the next round and the next. If you win the final round you get stoned to death.
First of all the first theme in the lottery is unfairness because the main character didn't think it was fair her husband got to pull the card out of the bucket. Also it could be unfairness because everyone doesn't know anything except there village in the world.
Although, unfairness is a pretty big theme I think the bigger them heartbroken the reason why I say that is because if you have to stone your friends or family it must hurt to sit there, and watch them get stoned to death. Since the bigger the rock the bigger the friendship could also mean knowing you ended your friends life that your rock could have been the rock that knocked them out, To sit there and watch the pain that you give your close family, friends.
In conclusion even though this story I think is a sad story, it also has a great meaning to it and the themes have a great meaning to it too.

Conflict In The Giver

Would living in a world with no emotion become chaos? Would living in a world where the government runs your life become chaos? In the book The Giver Jonas a very young boy discovers and sees all of the secrets about the world, because he was selected to be the new receiver. Now Jonas is a very intelligent boy, he wants everyone in the community to experience these feelings that he and only one other person can experience. Jonas and the Giver want the government to release these secrets and allow everyone to feel this pain and experience what real life would be.

This change in the world would help a lot because if people could feel emotions and know what the real life would be like they would be "living". They live in a "perfect world", but this world is not close to perfect. When the government runs your world, they choose your life, and in a perfect world everybody should be able to choose what they want so Jonas and the Giver have to be able to show the people what life would be. Also if the government isn't in complete control anymore it would give the people the right to free speech.

This change though is also very bad for the community. Since Jonas is a very smart young boy he understands the consequence, but he knows he has to do this. Jonas is selected to be the receiver, now if you’re the receiver you must live with the pain of knowing all of the secrets of the world. If these secrets become to "strong" it will cause psychotic reactions causing Jonas to either kill himself, or share information that he should not have. If Jonas does either of these outcomes, it might cause a chain reaction having the government take away all hope of having emotion, by killing the giver.

Fairy Tail, Cause and Effect

Author's Note:this is a cause and effect essay on the manga series, Fairy Tail.

In the manga series, Fairy Tail, there are quiet a few main characters, such as Natsu, Grey, Erza, Lucy, and Happy. In one of the chapters, it tells about Erza’s past. She basically grew up as a slave for these people who wanted to build this tower, for this evil god, Zeref.  I think that the most significant event in this series is the building of this tower.

The Tower was built by people who believed in this evil god, Zeref. They wanted to build this tower, so they could resurrect him. Because the tower was built, Erza grew up as a slave, she lost her best friend to the darkness, and was considered a traitor by all the other slaves of the tower.

Erza lost her best friend, when she was to be taken away to be punished, but he took her place, as he loved her. During his punishment, the followers of Zeref pushed the slaves to far. She started a rebellion. She attacked the guards, and had the other prisoners help her. It was during this battle, that she discovered she has magic.

When the battle is over, the slaves get on a boat, big enough to carry them all away from the tower. While this is happening, Erza goes to get Gerard. Sometime during his punishment, he was possessed by the evil god, Zeref. Gerard betrays Erza, and lies to the people on the boat, and tells them that Erza’s going to blow up the boat, so she is the only one who escapes. The other former slaves believe him, and call Erza a traitor. once Gerard gets everyone off, he uses his magic to make the ship explode.

Gerard’s betrayal is what sets a theme for a lot of books afterwards, such as Erza’s Trial for helping him, the destruction of the tower, and the death of her former friends. This is why I consider this one of the most important events in the series.

You Look Just Like Me

Author’s Note: This Five Paragraph essay is all about human cloning and why it’s a waste of time trying to create one. This piece should answer the following questions: What is Cloning? Should humans be cloned? What are the risks of cloning?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to clone yourself or someone else? Human cloning would be a wonderful gift to humankind, but nobody really considers the negatives. People don’t know cloning a human is a difficult task and they don’t really understand the topic.
First of all, before we discuss why cloning is difficult, we should know what it is first. Cloning is a procedure where a similar copy of a living object is made. DNA is collected from desired living organism that is to be copied. First animal to be cloned was a tadpole, but the first animal with a vertebra to be cloned was Dolly the sheep. (Lefers)
Secondly, the reason why human cloning is a somewhat hard task to achieve is simple. The human body is more complicated than an animal’s body. So if to say, successful animal cloning is 1or 2 out of a hundred, then human cloning would be extremely difficult and rarely possible. Several scientists and physicians stoutly consider that it would be unprincipled to try to clone humans. (Cloning Fact Sheet)
Lastly, you probably may not know the risks of cloning, but no need to look down upon your limitless Knowledge for I shall educate you in this topic. Reproductive cloning is expensive and highly inefficient.  Greater than 90% of cloning attempts turn out unsuccessful to produce feasible offspring. Over 100 nuclear transfer procedures may possibly be necessary to generate one viable clone. (Cloning Fact Sheet)
There are several other ideas and inventions that would be as beneficial as cloning. The idea of cloning was introduced to people by a movie, so hasn’t anyone ever told you not to believe what you see on TV? This is because it’s full of baloney. People can’t always depend on clones and besides, it’s virtually impossible to create a human clone.

A Life Of “The Boy Who Lived”

Author’s Note: In this five paragraph essay you will learn about a boy who goes from being freak to the most famous person alive in the wizarding world of magic. Harry Potter goes through many life changing events that will for the good and the bad.
Harry Potter’s life is as normal as a snowstorm in the Bahamas. He’s a wizard who goes to this school for wizards or witches that’s called “Hogwarts witchcraft and wizardry”, and he’s been attending school for the last seven years. There were many events during the seven years at Hogwarts that has changed him. Harry is a dynamic character because he was weak, afraid, and alone, but during the last seven years he became stronger, happier, and he never felt alone anymore knowing that he has friends and a true family waiting for him over summer break.
At first, Harry was a weak boy who was bullied by his cousin Dudley since he was a baby. He was never happy living with his aunt and uncle. When there special events he was always left out. Harry had no friends and always felt lonely. His aunt and uncle always treat him like trash. He’s always getting hand-me-downs.
Harry potter was always treated like a freak, but he started to ignore and get stronger with time. He knew that there had to be others that where “special” like him and that they were probably treated like him. That thought probably told him to be strong so he could defend others like him, because eventually he got stronger and braver.
During the last seven years at Hogwarts Harry grew happier. He made a lot of friends and found new family. Harry was never lonely anymore at his aunt and uncle. He’s grown stronger and braver with his friends at his side. His effect on others while he was changing was very significant. He helps others be braver than before. Everyone that has ever been in contact with Harry has grown either negatively or positively.  They’ve grown stronger, happier, or angrier.
Harry Potter is somewhat similar to Stan from the novel Holes. They both are static characters. Both of them have changed during the book and both have changed the people around them. In conclusion Harry Potter is a static character, and he and others have change through the series Harry Potter.

Rot & Ruin

Benny Imura is a kid who tries to live a life as normal as a one can be with zombies. He hates zombies because of what happened to his parents. They were taken away from him and his older brother so now he loathes every last living dead, including his monster of a mom and his dead dad. Throughout the book Benny changes, and his view of the living dead turns from hatred and sadness to understanding and respect. When a situation happens to scar you the worst thing you can do is dwell on that memory and grow angry.

At first, Benny was in denial when his life changed. He thought that his brother was a coward because he when their mother told them to. His brother always tries to protect him, but Benny hated him.

Later in Benny’s life is when he starts to understand tom and zoms. Tom explains what he does and how he does it. Benny still doesn’t believe so Tom takes him out in to Rot & Ruin, where Benny stars to understand.

After tom took him out into the Rot & Ruin, Benny has started to develop a different point of view. He now sees that the zom that the kill aren’t just zombie there were once human beings, so he starts to develop respect.

In the end, Benny now knows that what he knew was good and bad was the other way around. The bounty hunters he idolized were more of an abomination than the zoms. When something really bad happens to you doesn’t mean that you should already determine what is good and bad. Never allow your anger to control you.
