Fairy Tail, Cause and Effect

Author's Note:this is a cause and effect essay on the manga series, Fairy Tail.

In the manga series, Fairy Tail, there are quiet a few main characters, such as Natsu, Grey, Erza, Lucy, and Happy. In one of the chapters, it tells about Erza’s past. She basically grew up as a slave for these people who wanted to build this tower, for this evil god, Zeref.  I think that the most significant event in this series is the building of this tower.

The Tower was built by people who believed in this evil god, Zeref. They wanted to build this tower, so they could resurrect him. Because the tower was built, Erza grew up as a slave, she lost her best friend to the darkness, and was considered a traitor by all the other slaves of the tower.

Erza lost her best friend, when she was to be taken away to be punished, but he took her place, as he loved her. During his punishment, the followers of Zeref pushed the slaves to far. She started a rebellion. She attacked the guards, and had the other prisoners help her. It was during this battle, that she discovered she has magic.

When the battle is over, the slaves get on a boat, big enough to carry them all away from the tower. While this is happening, Erza goes to get Gerard. Sometime during his punishment, he was possessed by the evil god, Zeref. Gerard betrays Erza, and lies to the people on the boat, and tells them that Erza’s going to blow up the boat, so she is the only one who escapes. The other former slaves believe him, and call Erza a traitor. once Gerard gets everyone off, he uses his magic to make the ship explode.

Gerard’s betrayal is what sets a theme for a lot of books afterwards, such as Erza’s Trial for helping him, the destruction of the tower, and the death of her former friends. This is why I consider this one of the most important events in the series.
